We have been made aware of a phishing email circulating that falsely appears to come from a BBABC representative with the subject line:
“REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL – BLACK BUSINESS ASSOCIATION BC”
Please note that this email did NOT come from the Black Business Association of BC. It is a fraudulent message designed to mislead recipients.
For your safety:
- Do NOT open any attachments.
- Do NOT click on any links.
- Do NOT download any files
If you interacted with the message in any way, we recommend running a security scan on your device and updating your passwords as a precaution.

⚠️ Scam Alert: Unauthorized Individuals Posing as Afro World Expo Representatives
We want to alert our exhibitors, sponsors, partners, and attendees of scams involving individuals falsely claiming to represent the Afro World Expo.
These unauthorized parties have been offering services such as:
- Fake hotel bookings
- Attendee or exhibitor lists
- Booth and vendor sales
- Sponsorship or marketing packages
- Other third‑party “Expo services” not connected to our organization
These individuals are NOT affiliated with the Afro World Expo or the Black Business Association of BC.
To protect yourself:
Only trust official communication from our team.
All legitimate bookings, exhibitor opportunities, and sponsorship packages are available exclusively through the official links on our websites.
We have also seen an increase in email, text, and social media scams that may appear credible — some messages may even include accurate exhibitor or booth details. If anything seems suspicious or unexpected, please do not engage.
When in doubt: verify with us directly.
