The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015, provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future. At its heart are the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which are an urgent call for action by all countries - developed and developing - in a global partnership. They recognize that ending poverty and other deprivations must go hand-in-hand with strategies that improve health and education, reduce inequality, and spur economic growth – all while tackling climate change and working to preserve our oceans and forests.

What the BBABC is doing to meet the call to action:



Goal 1 - END POVERTY IN ALL ITS FORMS EVERYWHERE

Target 1.b Create sound policy frameworks at the national, regional and international levels, based on pro-poor and gender-sensitive development strategies, to support accelerated investment in poverty eradication actions

Indicators: Proportion of government recurrent and capital spending to sectors that disproportionately benefit women, the poor and vulnerable groups

The BBABC's mandate at it's core is to build economic wealth by supporting and building small businesses. Empowering our communities and small businesses gives the tools to people and families to pull themselves out of poverty and create generational wealth to sustain that progression.



Goal 5 - ACHIEVE GENDER EQUALITY AND EMPOWER ALL WOMEN AND GIRLS

Target 5.5: Ensure women’s full and effective participation and equal opportunities for leadership at all levels of decision-making in political, economic and public life

Indicators: Proportion of women in managerial positions

The BBABC empowers women and girls through direct programs, skills and leadership development, as well as mentorship to ensure women are positioned to succeed in managerial positions, C-suite, and entrepreneurship.



Goal 8 - PROMOTE SUSTAINED, INCLUSIVE AND SUSTAINABLE ECONOMIC GROWTH. FULL AND PRODUCTIVE EMPLOYMENT AND DECENT WORK FOR ALL

Target 8.3: Promote development-oriented policies that support productive activities, decent job creation, entrepreneurship, creativity and innovation, and encourage the formalization and growth of micro-, small- and medium-sized enterprises, including through access to financial services.

The BBABC's mandate is to support financial literacy, build economic wealth through the support of entrepreneurs and small business. We development programs which build sustainable businesses by integrating digital adoption technologies and innovation into business growth strategies.



Goal 13 - TAKE URGENT ACTION TO COMBAT CLIMATE CHANGE AND ITS IMPACTS

Target 13.3: 

Improve education, awareness-raising and human and institutional capacity on climate change mitigation, adaptation, impact reduction and early warning

Indicators: 

13.3.1

Extent to which (i) global citizenship education and (ii) education for sustainable development are mainstreamed in (a) national education policies; (b) curricula; (c) teacher education; and (d) student assessment

13.3.2

Number of countries that have communicated the strengthening of institutional, systemic and individual capacity-building to implement adaptation, mitigation and technology transfer, and development actions

The BBABC works to implement group based strategies aimed at awareness, measurement, and reduction, in order to positively impact climate change.
